The Tablea Taste Test in the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) booth was one of the attractions at the National Biotechnology Week (NBW) 2015at SM Dasmarinas, Dasmarinas City, Cavite as exhibit goers got the chance to sample the chocolate drink for free. A product of biotechnology, the Tablea Chocolate was developed byUPLos Banos-National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (UPLB-BIOTECH) and funded by DOST’s Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development. It eliminates the grittiness and bitter, burnt-like taste of most commercialtablea chocolates and replaces these with a smooth texture and yummier flavour. It was one of the interesting biotech applications on exhibit at the NBW which runs until November 28, 2015.
