4,066 grade 12 students take the 2023 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship Qualifying Examination

There were 4,066 grade 12 students in Region 1 who took the qualifying examinations for the 2023 DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarships held last March 18-19, 2023, at nine (9) Testing Centers spread across the four (4) provinces of the region.
This is the end of the campaign for the said scholarship which ran its application period from September 19, 2022, to December 16, 2022, that is spearheaded by the Science Education Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-SEI).

Food safety is very important as it may affect the health of consumers and also affect one’s food business. Because of this the Department of Science and Technology in Region I, through the Provincial Science and Technology Office-La Union (PSTO-LU), conducted a 2-day seminar/workshop on Food Safety and current Good Manufacturing Practices for the food vendors and handlers within the tourism area of San Juan from 15-16 March 2023 held at the PSTO-La Union Multi-Purpose Hall.

“There have been many government initiatives over the years in response to climate change, but there’s still a lot to do in terms of integrating these plans and programs,” said Rex Victor O. Cruz, Professor Emeritus at the University of the Philippines Los Baños.
Although 1.5 °C is a global target, the temperature increase and associated impacts will vary locally, according to the 2019 Study on the Implications of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC) Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
