Carrion with a putungan during a visit to DOST assisted projects in the province May 20-22. Putungan is a Marinduqueño tradition in which locals lay crowns, present bouquets, and serenade visitors. Gov. Carrion aims to reduce poverty threshold in his province by 10% this year from a high of 45.2% in 2004, through economic programs including technology-based ventures. DOST’s flagship Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program currently provides various technology related assistance to several small and medium enterprises in Marinduque. [Framelia V.
