Specialists in the Philippine science community regale students with anecdotes from their professional journeys and share career insights and tips on what career path to take after graduation during the “Meeting with Scientists” at the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Executive Lounge in Taguig City last December 10, 2015. Among them are (clockwise) Nathaniel A. Cruz, more popularly known as “Mang Tani,” former chief weather forecaster of DOST-PAGASA and now a popular TV weather reporter; DOST-PHIVOLCS Director Dr. Renato U. Solidum; and DOST-Science Education Institute Director Dr. Josette T. Biyo, the first Asian to win the 2002 Intel Excellence in Teaching Award. In 2003, the Lincoln Laboratory of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology named an asteroid after Dr. Biyo. The asteroid 13241 Biyo is in the Main Asteroid Belt between Mars and Jupiter.
