DOST XII Technical staff enjoy the interactive learning experience from Dr. Aristotle P. Carandang’s lecture on ‘DOST Branding’ during the first day the regionwide training.
As part of the initiative to strengthen S&T promotion throughout the region, the Department of Science and Technology-XII (DOST-XII), in partnership with DOST-Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII), conducted a two-day training workshop at DOST-XII Conference Room, Cotabato City. The activity, participated in by DOST-XII technical staff last June 1-2, 2017, aimed to address gaps on DOST branding and S&T promotion. Participants are expected to strengthen their activities in raising public awareness on the S&T services implemented in the countryside.
“With this two-day undertaking, we primarily hope to strengthen DOST XII’s S&T promotion initiatives in creating public awareness on various programs, projects, services and activities of DOST in the region as well as in underlining the role of S&T in socio-economic development,” said Dr. Zenaida Hadji Raof-Laidan, DOST-XII regional director.
Dr. Aristotle P. Carandang, one of the resource speakers from DOST-STII, highlighted the importance of information as a transformational tool that, when properly and effectively disseminated, can inspire the public to actively engage and participate thus creating the culture of understanding thru converting learned information to experience.#
