Popular meteorologist and television personality Nathaniel Cruz or Mang Tani of GMA-7 explains the science behind weather forecasting to elementary school children, mostly from poor families and from Boy’s Town in Parang, Marikina City. The event, titled “Disaster Summit for School Children (V-VI): A Science Experience”, was conducted by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-PAGASA and DOST-National Research Council of the Philippines in cooperation with PHIVOLCS and Philippine Nuclear Research Institute, both of DOST, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
