To those who are already in the food business or those mulling to venture in it, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) has exactly the services you need.
On Nov. 15, the DOST-Industrial Technology Development Institute will share to the public some food processing technologies that people can avail themselves of through licensing and technical services. The activity is second in DOST-ITDI’s five-part 2017 ITDI Technology Offering series.
According to DOST-ITDI, the food processing technologies can be availed of through licensing or technical services. Among the technologies that will be presented are the following: cacao (tablea) processing; cacao roaster equipment design; alternative sugar from nipa sap; ready-to-drink coconut milk production; food colorant from M. Purpureus 5001; ready-to-eat chicken arroz caldo; and packaging technology against aroma-loss for frozen durian.
There will be an open forum, technology consultation and negotiation and product sampling. The event which is open to the public will be held at the Food and Nutrition Research Institute Auditorium, DOST Complex, General Santos Ave., Bicutan, Taguig City.
