Cagayan Valley – As part of the  Lakas ng Siyensiya Season 4, ABS-CBN’s DZMM TeleRadyo will feature four Niche Centers in the Region (NICER) for Research and Development (R&D), five projects under the DOST Academe Technology-based Enterprise Development (DATBED) Program, and the Cauayan City Local Government Smarter City.

Included in the Niche R&D Centers are the Nueva Vizcaya State University’s Citrus Center, Isabela State University Main Campus Freshwater Fisheries R&D Center, Smart Water Infrastructure and Management (SWIM) R&D Center, and the Electromobility R&D Center of the Cagayan State University - Carig Campus.

Five student empowerment projects under the DOST - Technology Application and Promotion Institute's DATBED Program at CSU Gonzaga Campus are also included, namely: Tangimas, Kabutehan ng mga Estudyante: A student Empowerment Project Venturing to Mushroom Production and Processing at CSU Gonzaga, Cagayan; Production and Commercialization of Multiple-Grafted Bonsai Bougainvillea Plants and Bougainvillea Potting Mix in CSU – Gonzaga Campus; SMIDGETS: CSU-Gonzaga as the School Motivated to Innovate and Develop Gorgeous and Everloved Tiny Sweets and Establishment of Bio-Organic Fertilizer Production Center.

Assisted by DOST-II’s Information Officers, KC D. Sucuano and Dave Masirag along with PSTC focal persons, DOST’s DOSTv team conducted a video shoot for the teaser videos to be aired during the live interviews with concerned project leaders and DOST-II personnel on July 02, September 11 and October 1 this year.

Lakas ng Siyensiya is a science and technology-based television program, a project of DOST Philippines' Regional Offices led by DOST-MIMAROPA that aims to intensify the promotion of S&T programs, projects and accomplishments in Cagayan Valley and beyond.

Through this collaboration with the said station, S&T initiatives will reach a wide audience in various areas in the country, and will also promote transparency and credibility of the agency. (30) (By DOST Region II)
