The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is pleased to announce the opening of the call for proposals for the 2025 Joint Research Project between DOST and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
This bilateral initiative aims to support research conducted jointly by Filipino and Japanese researchers, fostering international scientific cooperation. Interested applicants are encouraged to work closely with their counterparts in Japan to develop their proposals.
The Filipino proponents should submit their proposals to the DOST Project Management Information System (DPMIS), while their Japanese counterparts should submit identical proposals to JSPS for a separate review and evaluation. Only projects approved by both DOST and JSPS will proceed under this scheme.
The deadline of submission is on 03 September 2024, 5:00 PM. Please refer to the enclosed document below for the application guidelines.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting submissions for the PH-ROK Joint Science & Technology Research Program 2024. This program, in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT-Korea) and its National Research Foundation, aims to foster international research collaboration and exchange between the Philippines and Korea.
In this year's program, both countries will provide support for joint projects focusing on (i) nuclear science/applications and (ii) water security. Each project will have a duration of three years and will receive funding assistance worth USD96,000.00 or Php5,000,000.00 to support Filipino researchers. It is required that Filipino applicants/researchers have at least one Korean partner-researcher from a scientifically/technically recognized institution in Korea. The researchers should be experts in the relevant research fields mentioned above.
Enclosed, for reference, is a copy of the guidelines of the Call reflecting the timeline, funding, contact points, among others. The deadline of submission is extended until May 22, 2024.

The DOST-Philippines and the Embassy of France to the Philippines and Micronesia are excited to announce the availability of the PhilFrance-DOST Fellowship Program 2024. This program aims to enhance the skills and expertise of Filipino professionals currently employed in academic, research, or government institutions. Participants will be selected based on their outstanding academic achievements, and will have the opportunity to pursue a Master's or Doctorate degree in public higher education establishments under the Ministry of National Education, Higher Education, and Research of the French Republic. The deadline for applications is April 7, 2023.

We are pleased to announce that the 2024 Joint Research Project Call for Proposals between Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of the Republic of the Philippines and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the People’s Republic of China is now open.
In pursuit of cooperation between the DOST and the MOST of the People’s Republic of China, we are calling for mutually beneficial and collaborative project proposals in any of the following identified priority areas:
(a) Health
- Medical Tissue Engineering
- Biomimetic material for medical use
(b) Agriculture
- Smart water management for high-value crops
- Agricultural mechanization
- Precision agriculture
(c) Energy and Industry
- Energy storage
- Green construction materials
(d) High Technology
- Artificial Intelligence
- Quantum Computing
A total of five (5) new projects can be approved during this call for proposals. DOST will provide annual funding of up to Php 5,000,000 for each approved research project while MOST will provide an annual funding of up to RMB 1,000,000 for the Chinese counterpart. Each project should have a maximum duration of two (2) years.

Interested parties are advised to coordinate with prospective counterpart/collaborator in China to craft the project proposals. The Filipino researcher must submit the capsule proposals to the respective DOST Council while the Chinese counterpart will submit the same to MOST for review and evaluation. Only capsule proposals that are endorsed for further submission of full-blown proposals will undergo technical review and possible approval by both DOST and MOST.
