Relishing its accomplishments despite the many hurdles, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Fortunato T. de la Peña was elated to present the notable successes of the Science Department during the opening of the 2021 National Science and Technology Week (2021 NSTW).
De la Peña pointed out that from 2016 to 2021, the DOST has completed the development of various state-of-the-art development facilities and laboratories starting with the Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMCen), a rapid prototyping facility for the manufacturing industry to fast-track prototyping through the use of advanced 3D printing technology.

DAVAO DE ORO – True to its goal in promoting and supporting Grassroots Innovations, the Department of Science and Technology XI (DOST-XI), in collaboration with the Learning by Doing Technology, Inc. (LeadTech) and Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU), successfully conducted a SalikLakbay Solutions Mapping at Barangay Manurigao, New Bataan, Davao de Oro last 7-9 November 2021 for the implementation of the community's Agro-Ecology and Renewable Energy R&D Program.

Kicking off the 2021 National Science and Technology Week #2021NSTW of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the DOST’s Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) presents a virtual tour that showcases the DOST-PHIVOLCS headquarters in Quezon City from its exterior façade and aerial view to its lobby exhibit area and data receiving center for both earthquake, tsunami and volcano monitoring.
This 360-degree virtual exhibit tour is web-based and accessible to students; teachers and everyone to appreciate better the many innovations developed by DOST-PHIVOLCS to keep our communities safer during the occurrence of natural hazards. Pangasinan’s Burong Dalag now better smelling and less salty, other regional food products showcased in Science Week

The improved processing of ginisang burong dalag [sauteed fermented mud fish] now has 24-26% less salt content and it is more delicious, nutritious, and has a pleasant odor than what was normally manufactured. It also has passed the 365 days shelf-life test.
