Bakeshops in Pangasinan adopt DOST-FNRI's Enhanced Nutribun

LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN -- Two bakeshops in Pangasinan have already adoptedthe Enhanced Nutribun developed by the Department of Science and Technology-Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI) through the signing of a Technology Licensing Agreement (TLA) with the latter.
The new adoptors are Luis O. Sebastian of Louis Roy Bakeshop based in Mangatarem and Benedicto Planas of Planas Bakeshop and Store in Sual, both in the province of Pangasinan. Both adoptorsare beneficiaries of assistance from DOST Region I under the Small Enterprises Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP). SETUP is one of the flagship programs of the DOST that provides technical and financial assistance to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)to help improve their production and increase market competitiveness.

Lanzones and cacao farmers in Camiguin get training from DOST-X

To enhance the skills of the cacao and lanzones growers in Mahinog, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) - Camiguin conducted a training workshop for the local farmers on 27-28 April 2021 held at the Municipal Agriculture Site, San Miguel, Mahinog, Camiguin.It has a total fund of Php 391,000 and is a collaborative project with the Municipality of Mahinog.

The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office V (DOST-V) provided innovation support amounting to Php 5,590,000 for the adoption of Biotek-M™ Dengue Aqua Test in the Bicol Region. Through the assistance of the Department of Health – Center for Health and Development (DOH-CHD) Bicol, the test kits will be deployed to district hospitals/public healthcare centers accessible to communities assisted under the DOST’s Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) program in the region.
