This Businessworld report entitled “World Rating of the Philippines in the Economic Freedom of the World Index (EFW) was published on October 9, 2015.
The EFW measures the degree to which policies and institutions of countries are supportive of economic freedom using 42 data points to measure 5 broad areas: size of government, security of property rights, access to sourced money, freedom to trade internationally and regulation of credit, labor and business.
In 2015, with a rating of 7.14, the Philippines ranked no. 67 out of 157 countries rated. Other ASEAN countries ranked were: Singapore = rank 2; Malaysia = rank 58; Brunei = rank 62; Indonesia = rank 76; Thailand = rank 103; and Vietnam = rank 109.
