A report entitled “Economic Outlook for Southeast Asia, China and India 2014: Beyond the Middle-Income Trap was published in the Organization for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD) iLibrary.  It provides information on the economic conditions of the ASEAN countries, China and India including the challenges of the middle-income trap and key policies for avoiding it, while seeking to promote economic and social integration across the region.  A specific section for the Philippines is included.  The full version of the book can be read at http://www.oecd.org/site/seao/#d.en.250143.


The article that has been published in the Businessworld: Top 10 FDI Recipients, Northeast and Southeast Asia, 2014 (Posted on June 25, 2015) says that the Philippines has emerged as among the top foreign direct invest (FDI) destinations in East Asia. The Philippines climbed to 9th spot among the top 10 FDI recipients in East Asia with $6.2 billion inflows in 2014 from 10th place in 2013 with just $3.74 billion. However, the value of inflows still paled against those of comparable Southeast Asian peers.
