Talaga nga namang it feels like summer sa islang pantropiko! Kasing taas ng sikat ng araw ang ngiti sa mga masasayang aktibidad na maari nating gawin sa tag-araw.

For a second run, the Department of Science and Technology – Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) – Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly-Operated KioskS (STARBOOKS) receives a generous donation of Php 2.1 million from BPI Foundation, Inc (BPIFI) through a turnover ceremony on 11 April 2024 at DOST-STII. This aims to bolster the STARBOOKS project by providing thirty (30) remote schools nationwide with a complete package of science, technology, and innovation (STI) learning materials.
The turnover ceremony was attended by key representatives from DOST-STII, headed by Director Richard P. Burgos, DOST-STII Information Resources and Analysis Division (IRAD) Chief Alan C. Taule, STARBOOKS Unit Head Marievic V. Narquita, BPIFI Associate Director Juvylyn S, Revina, BPIFI Program Manager Melanie P. Magbuhos, and BPIFI Program Coordinator Benrick M. Dulay. The event was also graced by the presence of DOST Undersecretary for Scientific and Technical Services Maridon O. Sahagun.

Promoting gender equality and women empowerment reigned in the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) as it started the celebration of National Women’s Month through a Kick-Off Activity at DOST Compound, Gen. Santos Ave., Bicutan, Taguig City, on March 01, 2024.
Bearing the theme “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan!” the DOST, together with its agencies, aims to transform and uplift the women’s roles in society, which will lead them to have the courage and confidence to take the challenges and reap the opportunities.

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Energy (DOE) have officially sealed a collaborative agreement on the implementation of the Renewable Energy Trust Fund (RETF) projects.
The establishment of the RETF is mandated by Section 28 of the Renewable Energy Act of 2008, with the primary objective of fostering the greater utilization of renewable energy sources. Since its inception, the RETF has gained momentum, particularly with the issuance of Department Circular No. DC2022-06-0018, which provided the essential guidelines and procedures for the fund sourcing, accounting, and audit processes.

At the onset of the celebration of the National Intellectual Property (IP) Month, Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr. of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) emphasized how IP serves as a catalyst for innovative and creative solutions essential for shaping a brighter future.
"As we celebrate National IP Month, let us remember that Intellectual Property is not solely about protecting ideas; it's about leveraging them to address global challenges. The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals provide a roadmap for creating a better world, and IP is a key tool in achieving those goals," said Sec. Solidum during the DOST’s Virtual Flag Raising Ceremony on Monday, April 01, 2024.
