The Department of Science and Technology invites Filipino Startups to join the Startup Jam Pitching Competition held on November 28, 2024 at Cinema 4, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City
An innovative solution ready to change the world is the aim of the Startup Jam Pitching Competition for Filipino startups and innovators through their Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), as part of this year’s National Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (NSTW) celebration, which will be held on November 28, 2024, at Cinema 4, Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City.
The competition aims to inspire entrepreneurial growth, accelerate business development, and raise awareness of opportunities for scaling up through various government and private sector support programs. Startups must address a specific problem or need in any sector through an innovative solution. Each startup must be led by at least one Filipino founder, be in the early stages of operation (1-3 years), and be registered in the country.
The application process has begun, and the top ten finalists will present their working MVPs or prototypes for demonstration in the pitching competition. Meanwhile, the top three winners will receive cash prizes ranging from 20,000 to 50,000 pesos.
The 2024 NSTW highlights the significant contributions of science and technology to national development and has become a platform for advancing S&T advocacy in the country. This year’s celebration will take place in Cagayan de Oro City from November 27 to December 1, 2024.
Carrying the theme “Siyensya, Teknolohiya, at Kinabukasan: Kabalikat sa Matatag, Maginhawa, at Panatag na Kinabukasan,” and the sub-theme “Providing Solutions and Opening Opportunities in the Green Economy,” the five-day celebration will focus on advancing a green economy that promotes waste management towards a circular economy and accelerating the deployment of renewable energy technologies to benefit businesses and communities.
