Conflict-prone community in ZDS gets over 200k in GAD-centric S&T project

A total of ₱254,087.05 worth of assistance was recently released to the Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) of Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur (ZDS) by the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office IX (DOST-IX) for the procurement and installation of S&T initiatives in identified conflict-vulnerable zones in the area.

The Department of Science and Technology Regional Office IX (DOST-IX), together with the consultants from Quality Partners Company, Ltd., successfully conducted the “Year 1: Cycle 1: Phase 3 – GROW” training for the selected 20 DOST technical staff from the 16 DOST Regional Offices in the country under the DOST-PCIEERD-funded project “Knowledge Transfer (KT) to DTS: Catalysts to MSMEs’ Gaining PQA for SMEs” from 31 January – 07 February, 2022. PCIEERD or the Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development is one of the sectoral councils of the DOST.

Some ninety (90) research enthusiasts have recently participated in the online session on Intellectual Property (IP) conducted by the Zamboanga Consortium for Health Research and Development (ZCHRD) and the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
The webinar focused on the concepts of IPs and related aspects such as patents, utility models, copyrights, trademarks, and similar concerns.
