How do you make your plate GLOW?

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, glow means “to shine with”.

Because of the vibrant colors of fruits and vegetables, a way to shine your plate is by adding more of these foods. Adding these to your plate can also make your own health “glow”. Fruits and vegetables or “glow” foods, in general, are rich in vitamins and minerals that can help strengthen the immune system.

There is low adherence to infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practice recommendations for Filipino infants and young children ages six up to 23 months old.

This is according to the 2019 Expanded National Nutrition Survey (ENNS) of the Department of Science and Technology’s Food and Nutrition Research Institute (DOST-FNRI).

According to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), agricultural products account for about 8.9% of the Philippines’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP). 

However, due to cracking, abrasion, rotting, and mechanical damages in food, about 40% of these agricultural products are lost, gone to waste, during post-harvest handling and processing.
