As the Philippines battles the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) deployed four (4) new technologiesdeveloped by Filipino researchers to help in the fight against the corona virus.

Researchers at the Department of Science and Technology’s Forest Products Research and Development Institute (DOST-FPRDI) have recently found that the “Bandala” abaca hybrid yields high quality fiber that makes it a promising material for pulp and paper.
